Red & Pink Ombré Silk Gota Patti Saree

Delicate gota detailing, handcrafted — a sheer silk saree shaded from deep red through rose pink into orange, worked across the body with large circular sun medallions in gota patti: flat gold ribbon cut into diamonds and leaves and stitched into radiating petals, each ringed with rows of small orange chain-stitch dots. Small silver-white floral butis sit scattered between the medallions, and the border and pallu carry a broad woven gold zari band of florals and paisleys with a scalloped edge.

Gota patti is Rajasthani ribbon work and it catches light quite differently from woven zari — the flat metal pieces flash rather than shimmer, which is why the sun medallions read from across a room. Red into orange is a wedding-ceremony palette rather than a reception one. It comes with a matching red blouse piece carrying the same silver butis.
