Timeless, with fine zari work — deep red with a gold grid running through it: the ghatchola layout is a wedding-season staple in Rajasthan, and this cotton silk version carries it at a weight you can wear through a long day. A karwa chauth evening, a mandir visit, a family function where red is the expected colour.

Fabric and work: cotton silk in deep red with magenta undertones. Fine gold zari lines divide the field into a grid of squares in the ghatchola manner, each square filled with small dot motifs in white, yellow and pink. The work is known as Bikaneri bandhej. Woven gold zari borders run down both selvedges, and the pallu closes with wider gold bands over a deeper magenta-red ground.
