Rani Pink Dola Silk Banarasi Zari Jaal Saree
Regal fine zari work — rani pink and gold is the wedding-season default for a reason: it photographs beautifully and it never looks underdressed. This is a Banarasi-idiom Dola silk, light enough to wear through a long evening and rich enough for a sangeet, a reception or the family side of a wedding.
The ground is Dola silk in a deep rani pink with a soft satin sheen, woven all over with gold zari in a Banarasi jaal — slender flowering stems and small buta repeating across the field, with occasional flower heads picked out in green and blue meenakari-style colour. Broad gold zari borders run down both selvedges, and the pallu closes with stacked woven bands: a lattice, a run of florals and a deep panel of large zari blooms. The blouse piece is plain rani pink with a woven gold zari band at the sleeve.
