Peach & Gold Tissue Cutdana Banarasi Saree

Fine embellishment, exceptional detailing — a peach and gold tissue saree woven in the Banarasi, the ground crossed by a fine gold zari lattice with small squares set in the diamonds. Broad gold zari bands run along the border and across the pallu, and paisley and floral motifs are worked over them in cutdana: small cut glass beads stitched individually, so the motifs sit raised and catch light in points rather than as a sheen.

Peach and gold is a softer register than the usual festive reds, and the tissue weave keeps a heavily worked saree light enough to wear for hours. The beadwork is what makes it worth looking at up close. It comes with a matching blouse piece.
